You've read The Gruffalo four hundred times.

It's the end of the day. You're tired. And they want a story — a new one, ideally with a digger in it, and a dog called Pepper, and something about the moon.

You can make one up. You've been making them up for months. Some nights you've got it, and some nights you have absolutely nothing left.

So we'll do it. Every night. Before you've even thought about it.

How it works

  1. Tell us about your kid

First name, age, and what they're into at the moment. Takes about a minute.

  2. A story arrives at 6pm. Every evening.

Written for them, starring them, different every night. Nothing to open, nothing to remember, no app to download.

  3. You read it. That's it.

Five minutes, then lights out. Every story is built to wind down, not wind up.

Here's a real one

Written for Noah, aged 5, who likes trains, jumping in puddles, and collecting stones.

The Heron Who Collected Stones

It had rained all afternoon, and the whole world was dripping.

Noah put his boots on and went down to the river, because that is where the best puddles are.

Splash. Splash. Splish.

The big ones went splash. The little ones went splish. He did every single puddle on the path, in order, without missing one.

At the bottom, standing in the shallow water on two thin legs, was a heron.

"Are you fishing?" said Noah.

"Certainly not," said the heron. "I'm collecting."

Every story ends the same way — back home, warm, and tucked in. That part never changes, and it's the part that works.

Why it's not another app

Because it comes to you. Every other option asks you to open something, tap through some choices and wait — at exactly the point in the evening when you have least left in the tank. This just turns up.

Because the routine is the point. Kids settle on predictability. A story that arrives at the same time every night becomes part of how bedtime works, not another thing on your list.

Because we barely know anything about your child. First name, age, what they like. That's it. No surname, no photos, no date of birth, no daycare, no address. We don't want it and we don't ask for it.

Questions

Are the stories written by AI?

Yes — every story is generated fresh each night, then checked before it's sent. We think you should know that upfront rather than find out later. What we've spent our time on is the writing itself: how the stories are built, how they wind down, and making sure they're genuinely good to read aloud rather than just technically personalised.

What do you do with my child's details?

We use them to write the stories, and nothing else. We never sell or share them. We only ever hold a first name, an age, and a list of interests — we deliberately don't collect surnames, photos, birthdays, addresses, or the name of their school or daycare. Ask us to delete everything and we will, same day.

How do you know the stories are appropriate?

Every story is checked before it's sent — never anything frightening, sad, or unsettling. No peril, no danger, nothing that leads to difficult questions at 7pm. If a story ever isn't right, tell us and we'll deal with it straight away.

What if we miss a night?

Nothing happens. It's an email — it waits for you. Plenty of families read a few a week rather than every night.

Can I cancel?

Any time, in one click, from a link at the bottom of every email. No phone call, no form, no asking why. If you cancel during the first 7 nights you're not charged at all.

What if I've got more than one kid?

The $19.99 plan covers every child in the house, however many there are. They can share one story with all of them in it, or get one each — whichever works better at your place. Just tell us when you sign up, and you can change your mind later.
